Usage Note

Tasse refers to a drinking cup with a handle, typically for hot drinks: une tasse de café (a cup of coffee), une tasse de thé. The diminutive tassette is rare. Do not confuse with verre (a glass without a handle) or bol (a bowl-shaped mug). Une sous-tasse is a saucer.
