Usage Note

Talon refers to the heel of the foot or the heel of a shoe (talons hauts = high heels). It also means the stub or counterfoil of a cheque or ticket. The idiom tourner les talons means to turn on one's heel and walk away. The plural talons aiguilles means stiletto heels.
