Usage Note
Souriant is the present participle of sourire used as an adjective, describing a person or expression that is habitually smiling or good-natured. The feminine form is souriante. It differs from content (happy) by focusing on the outward expression: un visage souriant is a smiling face rather than merely a happy one.
Examples
