Usage Note
Résoudre is an irregular verb whose past participle is résolu — not résoudre. Résoudre un problème (to solve a problem) is its most common use. The adjective résolu also means 'resolute, determined', giving the word a double life. Se résoudre à faire quelque chose means to bring oneself to do something reluctantly.
