Reposant is the present participle of reposer used as an adjective, describing something that brings rest or relief from fatigue. The feminine form is reposante. It is commonly applied to landscapes, colours, music, or activities: une couleur reposante (a soothing colour), un séjour reposant (a restful stay). It is slightly more formal than relaxant.
