Usage Note
Reporter means to put off to a later date (reporter une réunion = to reschedule a meeting) or, in accounting, to carry forward a figure. As a reflexive se reporter à, it means to refer back to something (se reporter au chapitre précédent = refer to the previous chapter). Do not confuse with the English-borrowed noun reporter (journalist), which is also used in French.
