Usage Note
recouvrir means to cover something again or to cover it completely — recouvrir le sol de tapis ('to cover the floor with rugs'). It is distinct from récupérer ('to recover/get back'). The past participle recouvert is used as an adjective: recouvert de neige ('covered in snow').
