hang up

verb rak-ro-SHEH Less Common

Also means

rehang

Usage Note

Raccrocher literally means to hang something back on a hook (raccrocher un tableau), but its most common modern use is ending a phone call. Raccrocher au nez de quelqu'un ('to hang up on someone') is slightly rude. The opposite, picking up, is décrocher.
