partout

everywhere

adverb par-TOO Common

Usage Note

Partout means 'everywhere' and is the antonym of nulle part (nowhere). It often pairs with chercher (chercher partout = to search everywhere) and trouver (on le trouve partout = you find it everywhere). In sport scores, deux partout means 'two all'. Its final -t is silent.

Examples

"Il cherche ses clés partout dans la maison."

Natural Translation

He is looking for his keys everywhere in the house.
