Usage Note
Offrant appears almost exclusively in the legal and commercial formula au plus offrant (to the highest bidder), used in auctions and public tenders. Outside this set phrase it is rarely encountered. The present participle of offrir used predicatively is offrant; for general use, offrir or proposer are preferred.
