Usage Note
Nez is one of the words where the final consonant is completely silent — the 'z' is never pronounced. The plural nez is spelled identically. The idiom avoir le nez fin means to have a good nose for things or sharp intuition, and sous le nez de quelqu'un means right under someone's nose.
