Usage Note
Narcissisme refers to excessive self-admiration, used both in psychology (as a personality trait or disorder) and in everyday speech. The adjective is narcissique and the person un narcissiste. Freud's use of the term gave it a central place in psychoanalytic vocabulary and from there it entered common French.
