Usage Note
Morceau commonly refers to a piece of food (un morceau de pain — a piece of bread), but also a piece of music (un beau morceau — a beautiful piece). The plural follows the regular -eau → -eaux pattern: morceaux. Mettre en morceaux means to break into pieces, and manger un morceau informally means to grab a bite to eat.
Examples
"Il mange un morceau de fromage."
Natural Translation
He eats a piece of cheese.
