Usage Note
Lendemain always refers to the day following a reference point — le lendemain de la fête means 'the day after the party'. It is almost always used with the definite article le. The plural lendemains can mean 'the days that follow' or, figuratively, 'consequences' — de beaux lendemains means 'a bright future'.
