Usage Note
Intense is invariable in gender — un regard intense, une chaleur intense. It conveys a high degree of strength, depth, or concentration: emotion, light, heat, or effort. The adverb is intensément and the related verb is intensifier (to intensify). Do not confuse with intensif, which means intensive (as in un cours intensif).
