Usage Note

Insupportable describes something (or someone) that cannot be endured. It is formed from the prefix in- + supportable (bearable). The related verb is supporter ('to tolerate, to bear'). Colloquially, calling a person insupportable is a strong but common way of saying they are insufferable or impossible to deal with.
