Usage Note

Installer means to install (software, equipment) or to set up. The reflexive s'installer means 'to settle in' or 'to sit down' — installez-vous! ('make yourself comfortable / have a seat') is a very common polite invitation. Installation is the cognate noun used in both technical and artistic contexts.
