Usage Note

Inspiration covers both the creative sense (a flash of inspiration) and the physical act of breathing in (une inspiration profonde = a deep breath). The verb inspirer likewise means both to inspire someone and to inhale. The opposite of the breathing sense is expiration (exhale).
