innombrable

countless, innumerable

adjective ee-nohm-BRAHBL Rare

Usage Note

Innombrable has the same form in masculine and feminine, but does take a plural -s (des étoiles innombrables). It is a near-synonym of incalculable and infini but specifically evokes something too numerous to count individually. It often precedes the noun in literary or formal registers: d'innombrables étoiles.

Examples

"Des étoiles innombrables brillaient dans le ciel."

Natural Translation
