Indignation describes righteous anger at something felt to be unjust or unworthy. It is a formal register word frequent in political and journalistic writing. The related verb s'indigner (to be indignant) and adjective indigné are important companions. The 2010 essay Indignez-vous! by Stéphane Hessel popularised the term as a political rallying concept.
