Inapproprié is a direct calque of English 'inappropriate' and is a relatively recent addition to formal French. It agrees in gender and number: inappropriée, inappropriés, inappropriées. In more traditional French, speakers might prefer inconvenant or déplacé for a social faux-pas context. Inapproprié is now standard in administrative, legal, and HR discourse.
