Usage Note
Humain works as both an adjective (l'erreur humaine = human error) and a noun (un humain = a human being). The feminine adjective is humaine, the plural humains. The phrase les droits de l'homme (human rights) uses homme not humain, while être humain is the standard phrase for a human being.
