Heureusement is the standard sentence adverb for expressing relief — equivalent to 'thankfully' or 'luckily'. It is derived from heureux ('happy, fortunate'). The antonym malheureusement ('unfortunately') is formed by adding mal-, and both are extremely common sentence openers.
