Heure also covers 'time' in the everyday sense — quelle heure est-il ? asks what time it is, and à l'heure means on time. It fronts the polite tout à l'heure (see you in a bit, or earlier) and de bonne heure (early), and since France runs on the 24-hour clock, quinze heures lands at 3 p.m.
