Gonflé literally means swollen or inflated (un ballon gonflé = a blown-up balloon) and colloquially means audacious or cheeky, as in t'es gonflé! (you've got a nerve!). The feminine form is gonflée. The related verb is gonfler (to inflate; also, to annoy informally: tu me gonfles!).
