Usage Note

Fournir is commonly used in both commercial and everyday contexts — a shop fournit goods, but you can also fournir un effort (make an effort). The derived noun fournisseur means 'supplier' or 'provider', as in fournisseur d'accès Internet (ISP). The reflexive se fournir en means 'to stock up on'.
