Also means
very
Usage Note
Fort as an adverb means 'loudly' (parler fort) or 'hard' (frapper fort), and in older or literary French it also means 'very' (fort bien = very well). Note that the adjective fort/forte (strong) is a homograph; only context reveals the part of speech. The adverb fortement is a more unambiguous option for 'strongly'.
