Usage Note
Fantasme specifically refers to a sexual or wishful fantasy in the psychological sense, and carries a more clinical or intimate register than fantaisie (whimsy, imagination). The verb fantasmer means to fantasise. Be careful not to confuse it with fantôme (ghost) or fantaisie (fancy).
