Excès is identical in singular and plural (the final 's' is always present and always silent). The phrase à l'excès means 'to excess, excessively'. It commonly appears in legal and medical contexts: excès de vitesse (speeding), excès de boisson (excessive drinking). The adjective form is excessif.
