Usage Note
dealer is an anglicism. In everyday French speech it almost exclusively refers to a street-level drug dealer (un petit dealer). The card-game or car-dealer sense exists but is less common than the English original. The verb dealer (to deal drugs) is also used in informal speech. In formal writing, revendeur de drogues is preferred.
