Démoniaque is invariable in gender (same spelling for masculine and feminine). It describes something or someone possessed by or resembling a demon, and is used both literally in religious contexts and figuratively for extraordinary, almost supernaturally intense talent or cruelty (un rire démoniaque = a diabolical laugh). The noun un démoniaque refers to a person believed to be possessed.
