Décrocher means literally to unhook or take down (a picture, a phone receiver), and colloquially to 'land' or 'get' something desirable — décrocher un emploi ('to land a job'), décrocher le jackpot ('to hit the jackpot'). It can also mean to stop paying attention or to drop out: il a décroché en cours ('he zoned out in class').
