Cruel follows a regular pattern: feminine cruelle, masculine plural cruels, feminine plural cruelles. It describes deliberate harshness or a painful fate — un destin cruel means 'a cruel fate'. The adverb cruellement means 'cruelly' and the noun cruauté (f) means 'cruelty'.
