Usage Note
Conformément is a formal adverb used almost exclusively in legal, administrative, and official writing, always followed by the preposition à: conformément à la loi ('in accordance with the law'). It derives from the adjective conforme and the noun conformité. In everyday speech, selon or d'après would be used instead.
