Usage Note

Compréhensible describes something that can be understood or that is reasonable given the circumstances — sa réaction est tout à fait compréhensible (his reaction is entirely understandable). It is invariable for gender (no separate feminine form; endings are the same). Do not confuse with compréhensif/compréhensive, which means 'understanding' or 'sympathetic' as a personal quality.
