Usage Note

Clientèle is a collective noun (always singular in form) covering the entire body of a business's customers: fidéliser sa clientèle (to build customer loyalty). The related verb prospecter de nouveaux clients is used when seeking new customers. A shop's regular customers may also be called les habitués.
