Usage Note
clap (also claquette) is the film-set clapperboard used to sync sound and picture at the start of a take. On a shoot you will hear clap! called before the camera rolls. The final 'p' is pronounced, unlike most French words — it is a borrowing from English.
Examples
"L'assistant frappe le clap avant chaque prise."
Natural Translation
