Usage Note

Bousculer means to knock into or jostle someone physically, but also to disrupt an order or rush someone: ne me bouscule pas can mean 'don't rush me' as well as 'don't shove me'. The noun bousculade describes a scuffle or a stampede-like crush of people. It is a regular -er verb.
