Bordure refers to a decorative or structural edge — the border of a garden bed, the trim on clothing, or the edge of a path. En bordure de means 'on the edge of' ('en bordure de mer' = 'at the seaside'). In heraldry, une bordure is a specific decorative band running around the edge of a shield.
