Usage Note
Boisson is the generic word for any beverage. Boissons alcoolisées are alcoholic drinks and boissons non alcoolisées (or boissons sans alcool) are soft drinks. The verb boire ('to drink') is its root; the related agent noun buveur/buveuse means a drinker.
