Usage Note
Astral (feminine: astrale, plural: astraux) relates to the stars or, in esoteric contexts, to a non-physical plane of existence, as in corps astral ('astral body'). It is used in both astronomical terminology and New Age discourse. Voyage astral ('astral travel') is the French term for an out-of-body experience.
