Épuisant is the present-participle adjective of épuiser (to exhaust, to drain). It describes tasks, people, or situations that drain one's energy completely. The feminine is épuisante. The related past participle épuisé means 'exhausted' as a state (je suis épuisé — 'I'm worn out') and also 'out of stock'.
