Usage Note
Également is the more formal counterpart of aussi and aussi bien for 'also' or 'equally'. It is common in written and journalistic French. Derived from égal (equal), it often implies a sense of treating things on an even footing. In formal writing, également is preferred at the start of a sentence where aussi would feel too casual.
