Usage Note
Âge refers both to a person's age ('quel âge as-tu?' = 'how old are you?') and to a historical era (le Moyen Âge = the Middle Ages). The adjective âgé means 'elderly' or 'aged'. The expression d'un certain âge is a polite euphemism for 'middle-aged' or 'getting on in years'.
