Usage Note
Zig is familiar/slang for a man or fellow, equivalent to 'bloke' or 'guy'. It is informal and slightly dated, more common in older French novels and argot than in contemporary speech. The variant zigue also exists. It carries no particular positive or negative connotation — it is simply a casual label.
