Tunique refers to a long, loose top garment reaching to the hips or thighs, worn in antiquity and as a modern fashion item. In a military context it means the uniform jacket (tunique de soldat). In anatomy, tunique also names the membranous coats of organs, such as the tunique vasculaire of the eye.
