Usage Note
Tapage refers to a loud disturbance, especially at night; tapage nocturne is the legal term for noise disturbance and is a minor offence in French law. The related adjective tapageur/tapageuse means both noisy and ostentatious. Do not confuse with tapas or taper (to hit).
