Usage Note
Tailleur has two senses: a person who makes clothes (a tailor, always masculine un tailleur) and a women's tailored suit (un tailleur). The phrase s'asseoir en tailleur means to sit cross-legged, literally 'in the tailor's position'. The verb tailler (to cut, to trim) is the root.
