Usage Note

Suggérer follows the pattern of verbs ending in -érer: the accent shifts in certain conjugated forms (je suggère, tu suggères, but nous suggérons). It is slightly more tentative than proposer ('to propose') and often used when offering an idea politely. The noun form is suggestion (f).
