Usage Note

Sitôt is a literary or formal adverb often used in the construction sitôt + past participle meaning 'as soon as' (e.g. sitôt dit, sitôt fait — no sooner said than done). It also appears in pas de sitôt, meaning 'not any time soon'. In everyday speech, dès que is more common.
